The 2020 Gigondas Les Pigières is more masculine, with powerful dark fruits, tapenade, ground pepper, and morello cherry notes as well as medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It picks up more Provençal garrigue notes (as well as complexity) with time in the glass, has ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautiful Gigondas to hide for 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade. The blend is 60% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre, and 5% Syrah.

Saturated ruby-red. Smoky and reductive initially, but aeration brings juicy red fruit, floral and spice scents. Lush and expansive in the mouth, offering jammy cherry and black raspberry flavors with licorice and black pepper hints. Finishes gently tannic, leaving sweet red fruit and spice notes behind.
