Winemaker's Notes
The Peppoli 2009 is ruby red in color with aromas of ripe red fruit and well amalgamated notes of vanilla and coffee. The palate enjoys a notable support from the acidity, which maintains a pleasurable freshness and persistence of flavor along with soft and sweet tannins which guarantee excellent drinkability.
Blend: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and Syrah

Bright and savory, this opens with aromas of wild red berry, blue flower and a whiff of wet earth. The linear palate offers juicy morello cherry, star anise and a hint of white pepper alongside fresh acidity and smooth tannins. Drink through 2023.

A Tuscan classic featured on trattoria and tavern wine lists in Florence and beyond, the Marchesi Antinori 2018 Chianti Classico Pèppoli is a popular and cheerful food wine to pair with a heaping plate of pasta with tomato sauce and grated cheese. The wine is Sangiovese with some complimentary Tuscan red varieties thrown in to complete this fun blend. You are treated to a pretty array of wild rose, forest berry and potting soil aromas that speak for the Chianti Classico territory. Some 873,000 bottles were released in March 2020.

The 2018 Chianti Classico Pèppoli is gracious and beautifully perfumed. Crushed red berry fruit, spice, blood orange, mint and orange zest give this silky Chianti Classico lovely flavor depth. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years.
