A stunner: perfume of cassis, beetroot, soil and coffee lead to cranberry and chalky tannins that swipe across the tongue. The fruit is broad and dark; graphite is evident. The big notes soon level out for a supple mouthfeel. Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Tannat and Malbec are blended in. The vote is in; it’s a landslide in favor of this classic red!

I loved the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Landslide (there's 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec in the blend). It's a concentrated, rich, medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that has lots of black raspberry, spice, dried soils, and graphite aromas and flavors. With plenty of mid-palate oomph, ripe tannin, and a good finish, it should drink nicely for 10-12 years, if not longer.

Rich and creamy black fruit aromas that are cosseting rather than enlivening. This nose opens onto a spicy, medium-bodied palate with a flicker of red cherries and a long, oaky finish.

Reduced and tannic, this is a full-bodied highly concentrated and robust wine, softly approachable with moderate red and black fruit and a lasting sense of herbaceousness.
