The 2000 Barolo Castiglione is made principally from grapes of the township of Castiglione Falletto where the Vietti cellars are located. A medium garnet, it features dried fruit and flowers on the nose, a balanced, medium-weight palate, much freshness and force on the mid-palate and the close, and some interesting tar and leather notes for additional complexity. Drink: 2005-2016.

A silky and refined red with plum, strawberry and light cedar character. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a crisp, silky finish. Lovely red. Best after 2007. 2,080 cases made.
